Hello gang
What an unbelievable vacation, would do it next week again. We cannot thank M&P, Toto, B&B enough for all that they did to make it possible. The safari was beyond description. We were able to head on with a 3 hour layover in London to Newark. Once over the jet lag will get some pics off. Sure miss all of you. Let's do it again

Hello Pervin & Merwyn and the gang,
It’s really hard coming back down to earth after that most wonderful of holidays – and you both were able to continue for a few more days – lucky you. Given the stormy weather we’re experiencing in England, it’s gives us a greater impetus to return. Which, of course, all of us intend doing in 2014, plus a few more who have now caught the enthusiastic bug that comes from us telling them about the trip. Hate to wish one’s life away, but in this case, roll on 2014.
Betty S – how’s the leg? Hope there hasn’t been any secondary infections. And Alan, how are you doing?
Tony – that chewra you got for us from Dar is absolutely delicious – I have to admit this, but within 2 days it was gone – yes, all 3 packets and just me eating it too. Miss hearing your jokes – it’s the way you tell ‘em. You have been one of the major stars on this trip.
Richard – must be tough being back at the parish without your EG’s to surround you (or should that be collar poppers???) Don’t work too hard.
Bruno & Joyce – bet you guys had fun on the safari and the icing on the cake was being able to spend another evening with P & M.
Alberto – though now we should all refer to you as Bertie. I bet you’re still reeling from the trip too huh? The photos say it all don’t they? Some fabulous ones of you that Benny’s put on the blog.
Betty & Benny – we’ve talked a lot since our return and look forward to seeing you next week.
Rooky – I’ve just remembered – how was the Leonard Cohen concert??? No doubt we’ll speak soon too.
I miss you all and the wonderful 2 weeks we shared together.
Lots of love, Pxx

Benny,
I have never seen the school look so good.
Congrats and thanks for the pictures.
In the mid-1970's and 1980's, I would sometimes arrive in Zanzibar before the
letter informing my grand-mom that I was arriving got to her. If she was not at
home. the tenants would advise me to first go to Africa House and if she was not
below the Kungu trees, she would be at Victoria Gardens.
As such, your pictures are of great nostalgic value to me.
The other comment I must make is that the pictures of the black painted boriti's
in the school also jogged my memory. Our house in Vuga also had rooms which were
whitewashed and which had black boriti's on the ceiling. Looking at your
pictures made me almost smell the aroma of our Zanzibar house and the bakery
next to it.
Once again, thanks.
Mervyn

Dear Team,
Glad to know you guys all arrived safely ……… hope the weather is being good to you!! We only got back to Arusha yesterday, after 5 great nights in Bwejuu, and man, the sea was just out of this world!! I went in with my floater, everyday, except the last day!!! The amount of madafus I had!! Tony came over and stayed for 2 nights with us and brought lots of food, so our diet had to end right there, and there were no Mapenzi steps to go up and down to digest the food!! Only thing missing was Pina Colada, not to forget the extra shot of rum!! We had to make do with rum and cola.
Well, we did have a great time and what made it really nice was the group. The fun, the laughter, the jokes, the singing, was all what it was because we had a great group. So guys, Merwyn and I had a great time with you all, and count us in for 2014.
Take a break first, tell your friends about Tanzania and Zanzibar, and look back on the time we had by looking at the photos!! I ofcourse have only 6 shots to look at, but I remember it all!!
Birthday Betty , every time I have a bite of the cake I think of you and the roses arrived Arusha safely!!........hand luggage.
Now we are having the Mendes group for lunch today and B + J and Kathy and Lou for dinner on Thur. Will miss you guys but if you all bite your tongues, know we are talking about you all and Znz!!
Regards, Pervin.

Benny, wow, what a job you’ve done – fantastic. Obviously, there are some repetitions with the pics but that’s to be expected given the sheer number taken. Well done. Looks great, and definitely makes me wish I was still there!
See you & Betty on Monday. Px

Thanks Benito, Looking forward to seeing all of the 2,000 pics – such wonderful days –
I went to the Leonard Cohen concert in Calgary on the Friday of my return and was transported to heaven when he sang “Tower of song” - Richard, please note, short cut to heaven – I by passed the usual process!
Thoroughly enjoying Betty’s birthday cake.
Brought back fresh made mandazis and masala roti from Calgary, courtesy of Ismaili friends. Reminded me of Forozani, and watching all of you enjoying the food!
Miss you all,
Rooky xox

Folks:
Its Tom Cruise reporting from a very cold and windy morning in Toronto...hey its Friday designated "say and do what you want day"....I feel privileged to be copied on these emails which I will strictly keep to myself ...I feel sad sometimes that I had to miss this great trip.....I know you guys always have a blast when in Z'bar.
It appears that the proposed 2013 Reunion may not take place in Oman as they appears to be a stalemate among some of the committee members. I am part of the committee but not very active. I was planning to go to the Isle next June 2013 for the St. Anthony's Machui feast ( Toto has been forcing me to come) but now that you folks are planning on another 2014 Reuion....count me in for sure....Hilda, who spoke to Benny last weekend has also confirmed she would like to attend....so folks lets go for it....
All is well in Toronto big "football" final on Sunday....Grey Cup......latest reports from Toto is the Toronto group is arriving in Z'bar today from Arusha where I heard they were treatment to a great lunch by host M&P....
Have a safe and a great weekend folks.....Caroline and son Carson doing well and "grandparents" coping well.
Cheers
John
